Investigation of the relationship between school administrators 'types of Enneagram personality and job satisfaction levels

The main purpose of this study is to determine the personality types and the distributions of personality types of school administrators, and to compare the distributions of personality types of school administrators with personality type distributions across Turkey. and to determine whether there is a significant relationship between the job satisfactions levels of school administrators and the personality type distributions of school directors by using the Enneagram technique. The population of this study, which aims to examine the relationship between the personality types and job satisfaction levels of school directors, is school administrators who are working as manager in kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in the central districts of Antalya province. According to the data obtained from the official website of the Provincial Directorate of National Education of Antalya province, there are 1065 official schools in total in the districts of Aksu, Dosemealtı, Kepez, Konyaaltı and Muratpasa. The population of this study consists the directors of these schools. Multi-stage sampling method was used in sample selection. In the first stage, by using stratified sampling, which is one of the random sampling methods, the number of school administrators that should be included in the sample group was determined according to their rate of representing the universe in all central districts. However, in the second stage, a sufficient number of school administrators were selected randomly by using the simple random sampling method that is one of the random sampling methods. While generating the research sample, an online form was sent to 400 school administrators included in the sample working in preschool, primary, secondary and high schools in the central districts of Antalya. 329 of these online forms were resent. 6 of the data that has some missing items in the scales or has more than one response for the items in the scale were considered invalid. The number of returned forms compensates the sample group consists of 323 participants. As a result, 323 questionnaires were incorporated into the analysis. In the data gathering process, the scale, which was prepared after the legal permission obtained from the Antalya National Education Directorate and Akdeniz University Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Committee, was shared with easily accessible school administrators working in the central districts on a voluntary basis.Simple random sampling method, which is one of the random sampling methods, was used. During the data collection process, the scale, which was prepared after the legal permission from the Antalya Directorate of National Education and the Deanery of Akdeniz University, was shared with easily accessible school administrators who are working in the central districts of Antalya on a voluntary basis. Data collection was carried out by the researcher. During the collection of data, an online form was prepared due to the economic conditons and the current pandemic precautions. The created online form was shared with the participants. This way has been preferred because ıt will increase the researcher's control, provide significant savings in terms of time and cost. The measurement tools which are used in the research was applied in three sections consisting of dermographic informations, Minnesotta satisfaction questionnaire, Enneagram personality test, and in a single session by giving the necessary explanations. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the Enneagram personality types of school administrators had a low and moderate positive effect on their professional satisfaction. Afterwards, it was observed that Enneagram personality types differed significantly in order with gender, position, tenure still in progress, educational status and professional experience. Finally, it was observed that professional satisfaction differed significantly in order with gender, position, tenure still in progress, educational status and professional experience.
