The relationship between school administrators' entrepreneurial characteristics and school climate

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of school administrators' entrepreneurial characteristics on the school climate according to teachers' perceptions. In the study, the concept of entrepreneurship was examined in detail under headings such as school management, the duties and responsibilities of school administrators, the necessary characteristics of a school administrator, school climate, types of school climate, positive school climate, and entrepreneurial characteristics after examining a positive school climate and factors influencing school climate, entrepreneurial functions, entrepreneurial processes, and entrepreneurship education. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The population of the study consisted of 2230 teachers working in pre-school, primary, secondary and high school levels of official schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Sur and Çınar districts of Diyarbakır province and the sample consisted of 337 teachers who were determined using simple random sampling method in the 2023-2024 academic year. In the study, personal information form, "Entrepreneurship Scale" developed by Yılmaz and Sünbül (2009) and "School Climate Scale" developed by Canlı, Demirtaş and Özer (2018) were used. SPSS program was used to analyze the data obtained in the study. In the study, descriptive statistical methods such as arithmetic mean, standard deviation, percentages, independent sample t-test, Pearson Moments two-way correlation analysis, regression analysis, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Croanbach Alpha reliability coefficients which calculate internal consistency coefficients for reliability test were used. The Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the entrepreneurship scale was found to be 0.987 and the Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient of the school climate scale was found to be 0.862. According to the results of the study, it was determined that there is a positive and highly significant relationship between school administrators' entrepreneurial characteristics and school climate.
