The relationship between school administrator's leadership behaviours and organizational cynicism attitudes of teachers: A case of Karabük

The aim of this study is to show by survey the literature of organızational cynicismattitudes of teachers and school administrator?s leadership behaviours and evaluating them in various perspectives. In the study, the relationship between the demographic and professional features of teachers and the levels and terms of leadership and organizational cynicism would be determined. For that reason, in the year 2012, sample is consisted of 500 teachers in the schools from Karabuk elementary schoolsand data is gathered with descriptive survey method. The questionare is made of three parts including the questions which would enable to determine the demographic features of subject group, levels of organizational cynicism and leader behavior. In the results of the research, the values of percentage, frequency, artitmetic mean, standart deviation are given. Pearson correlation coefficient, multi linear regression analysis, normalization test, unless the numbers of parametric tests are met according to the results of normalization test, for the independent variables Mann Whitney-U, for dependent variables comparisonal t test, for independent variables categorized more then twice Kruskal Wallis-H tests are used. For frekans charts, explanatory statistics, and the analysis of the relationship between the two variables are measuredby Pearson Correlation coefficient, for the difference of the average of two groups Mann Whitney-U and for the difference of the averages of groups more than two Kruskal Wallis-H tests. To measure the prediction level of the relationship among the IXdependent variables multi regression tests are used. In order to test the reliability of the scale Alfa Cranbach Reliability test is applied. In the analysis of the data relational scanning and correlation is applied, and for these SPSS 15.0 package program is used. As a result of the resarch, it is seen that the cynicism levels of school directors are low, whereas their leadership abilities are high level. A midium-level negative correlation between organizational cynicism and leader behaviours are detected. It is observed that in terms of demographic features there is a significant difference between independent variables (gender, marital status, period of service, age and educational status) and organizational cynicism and leader behaviour. It is predicted that the relationship between organizational cynicism and leader behaviour is negative oriented and midium level.Key Words: Cynicism, leadership, organizational cyncism, principal, teacher opinions
