Investigation of the relationship between school administrators' leadership styles and teachers' perceptions of organizational silence

The purpose of this research is to determine the direction and level of the possible relationship between the leadership styles of school administrators as perceived by teachers and the organizational silence levels of teachers. The study group of the research included 403 teachers working in official kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and high schools within the borders of Erzincan province in the 2023-2024 academic year. The data in the research were obtained using leadership styles, organizational silence scale and personal information form. In this research, the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research models, was preferred. It was observed that school administrators generally exhibited transformational leadership behavior and teachers' perception of organizational silence was at a medium level. It seems that all leadership styles are significant predictors of organizational silence. According to the standardized regression coefficient (β), the relative importance of the predictor variables on silence is; sustaining leadership style, laissez-faire leadership style, transformational leadership style. It is seen that there is a negative, medium-level relationship between transformational leadership style and organizational silence, and a positive, medium-level significant relationship between sustaining and laissez-faire leadership styles and organizational silence.
