Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, it is observed that our way of life has been changed and gained new aspects via development of science and technology. Human being has to cope with new problems which have been occurred as the consequent result of all these changes, such as increasing spare times and how to utilize most effectively the spare times. Improvement on the recreation concept, has created new professions and caused new expectations in the society. Both in the public and private primary & intermediate schools, the targets of the social coup studies are to utilize most effectively and productively the spare times of students in scientific, social, cultural, artistic, sporting fields via students clubs with a devotion to improve student?s self confidence and responsibility senses, aim to make them have new interest and skills accompanying with the lecture programs. On this research study, it has been aimed to determine via public surveys exposing the re-creative activities of social clubs, how much the students, between 13-18 ages, perform re-creative functions both public and private school schools in Adapazarı city centre and the results have been tried to compare accordingly. These activities are being categorized as re-creative since the principle of the attendance is voluntary and not compulsory. On this research study, re-creative functions of social club activities are examined with an aim to make visible how much they could perform of these functions. On the first and second chapters of the study, ideal deal situation has been described. According to the survey results, social club studies in practice have not reached the targets in the public schools, but reached the targets at private schools meeting student?s request and expectancies in most cases and consequently in conformity with the aimed objectives of social clubs regulations. The reasons of these results have been studied. According to research, there are other factors effects the results as well as the physical insufficiency of the schools: First of all, students can not enrol to their previously required clubs but to guided clubs, and then mostly insufficient sporting equipment, missing coordination among the clubs, ignorance of mentor teachers, false consideration of social club activities as a formality, lack of introduction information etc could be reasons. It is being observed that there are significant gap and discrepancies in utilization of spare times between private and public schools. However, this gap could be close whenever the school administrations would appreciated the social activities. Key Words: Intermediate Education, exterior activity, Social club, Recreation.
