The analysis of the learning styles of preschool teacher candidates

This study has been developed with the purpose of identifying the learning styles of preschool teacher candidates. The Teacher Candidates Learning StylesScale (ÖAÖSÖ) and a survey prepared by the researcher have been used for the study.The research has been applied to students majoring in preschool education throughout 2014-2015 academic year at the state and private universities in İstanbul.It has been conducted on a sample group of 398 teacher candidates which consists of 372 females and 26 males. There are 49 questions in the Learning Style Scale survey that have been developed for the teacher candidates.The subdimensions have been divided into four groups; 12 questions related to visual learning style, 14 questions related to auditory learning style, 11 questions related to tactile learning style and 12 questions related to kinesthetic learning style. From the statistical perspective significant differentiation has been determined in the following subdimensions: 1.Kinesthetic subdimensions according to age 2.Tactile subdimensions according to gender 3.Auditory subdimensions according to father's education level In the other comparisons the results have not been found significant. The results of the research have been found valuable when advising researchers and users in this field.
