Determination of morphogenetic variability in immortelle (helichrysum italicum)

This study was carried out to determine the morphogenetic variability in the Helichrysum italicum grown in dry conditions in Şanlıurfa province. It was conducted in the Harran University Faculty of Agriculture, Osmanbey Campus Agricultural Application Area, in 2024, in the immortelle plantation transplanted to the field in May 2023. In the study; plant height, canopy diameter, fresh herb yield, dry herb yield, leaf ratio, dry leaf yield, stem ratio, dry stem yield, flower ratio, dry flower yield, flower essential oil ratio, stem essential oil ratio, leaf essential oil ratio and essential oil components were examined. According to the research results; plant height was 30-112 cm, canopy diameter was 30-90 cm, fresh herb yield was 25.90-430 g/plant, dry herb yield was 16.01-220.10 g/plant, leaf ratio was 13.37-49.65%, dry leaf yield was 3.85-60.28 g/plant, stem ratio was 26.13-54.14%, dry stem yield was 4.67-105.83 g/plant, flower ratio was 15.12-52.64%, dry flower yield was 5.04-87.80 g/plant, essential oil ratio was 0.04-0.55%. The main components of the essential oil were found to vary between the values of Neryl aceate 7.70-14.79%, β-Himacelene 7.54-22.73%, α-Curcumene 6.39-7.76%, α-Copaene 3.13-7.53%, α-Pinene 2.71-4.73%, β-Selinene 5.07-7.07%, Bisabolane 3.13-5.20%, Viridiflorol 0.37-8.87%, Geranyl propionate 2.83-6.16%, Selina-6-en-4-ol 1.5-4.76%. Additionally, the main component was determined in flower essential oil as β-Himachalene and in leaf and stem essential oils as Neryl acetate.
