Abstract (EN)
This study consists of five major sections; comprising "introduction", "theoretical information and respective research", "methods", "findings and remarks", "conclusions, discussions and suggestions". Related publications and researches were searched to find answers to the questions asked in order to reach the aims and sub-objectives of this study. Firstly, The answer to the question "How can comics for teaching social studies be prepared in order to meet the criteria of being the teaching material" was sought. Secondly, exemplary comic books were created in line with the principles of teaching material development for the achievements of the "Social Studies Learning" unit included in the sixth grade Social Studies textbook. As a result, suggestions on the development of comics for Social Studies education have been made. Furthermore, recommedations about practicing the developed comics on lessons were made. Key Words: Social Studies, Teaching Material, Written Material, Visual Material, Comic Book, Teaching Methods and Techniques.
