Abstract (EN)

Today, concrete-faced rockfill dams are widely used. This type of dams consists of a transition zone consisting of a thinner rockfill on top of the drained rockfill, and a surface coating (concrete coating) layer with a filter on the upstream side of this zone. The surfacing is usually created after the entire rockfill, the main material forming the dam, has been placed. On the upstream side, water-retaining materials are used to control the cracking caused by the deformations of the dam water on the coating and to provide impermeability with the joints. Deformation, slope stability problems or excessive pore water pressure that may occur in rockfill dams with a concrete front face can cause serious damage to dams that cannot be prevented. The deformation, pore water pressure and stability of the dams may differ according to the geological structure of the land and the material used. For this reason, it is important to carry out the necessary studies with the studies and feasibility processes to be carried out before starting the dam construction. The materials to be used in the dam design should be subjected to laboratory tests first and then the necessary parameters should be obtained and analyzed in a realistic way. This means that the current situation should be analyzed with a numerical method before the construction phase and then put into practice. In this thesis, Akçay Dam to be built in Pamukova Eskiyayla basin, located 6 km north of Eskiyayla village, 21 km from Pamukova district in Sakarya province, was analyzed under static conditions as two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) with Midas GTS-NX finite element method. The displacements obtained as a result of the analyzes were compared with the displacement readers placed in the body of the dam
