Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to examine the impact behavior of the repaired glass/epoxy composite laminates experimentally. The specimens used in experiments were manufactured by vacuum assisted resin infusion molding method in Composite Research Laboratory at Dokuz Eylül University. Glass-fiber fabrics with different orientation angles were used in fabrication of the specimens. CEAST marked Factovis Plus impact test machine with drop test module was used in the experiments. In this study, the effects of several parameters such as the repair method (hand lay-up, vacuum assisted resin infusion molding), the depth of repair and the testing temperature(-50°C, 20°C, 90°C) on the impact behaviour of repaired composite plates as examined. The result obtained are discussed via diverse graphics and cross-examining of damaged samples after impacts. The contribution of the parameters mentioned on the damage mechanisms are examined. A comparison between impact responses of repaired and intact samples is also done. As summary of the attractive results is provided at the end of the article.
