Abstract (EN)

This thesis aims to examine Önay Sözer's novels Öteki, İsis'in Düğümü, Sonradan Yaşamak, Piri Reis'in Kayıp Adası, Sarsılanlar, Dolambaç and his short story Çıplak Gülüş in terms of their structural elements and narrative constructs. Each of Sözer's works is analyzed individually in terms of structure and theme. In the thematic analysis, the prominent motifs and philosophical concerns in each novel are interpreted through the lenses of history, psychology, and philosophy. Sözer's literary production is not only fictional storytelling but also a field of philosophical inquiry centered on identity, existence, memory, and art. In his novels, the constructions of time, space, and character transcend the conventions of the classical novel, being reconstructed within psychological and existential dimensions. These concepts are explored through a distinct and original literary style. In this thesis, Önay Sözer's novels have been comprehensively evaluated from both structural and thematic perspectives. In conclusion, the analyses conducted within the scope of this study aim to contribute to a better understanding of Sözer's works.
