The novels and the novelistic account of Öner Yağcı

It is a necessity for the literature world to analyze the novels of Öner Yağcı who reflects the central events of Turkey?s history to his novels and consolidates his places in the literature world with awards. Therefore, in this study, this requirement is fulfilled by the examination of Öner Yağcı?s novels individually (Kardelen, Turnalar, Gökyüzüne Akan Irmak, Kaptan, Yediveren ve Kir) in chronological order considering the criteria such as plot, narration techniques, perspectives and narrator, time, space, characters, thematic structure, and common structures that constitute a novel; and by making inferences about his novelistic account.In this study, document review technique is employed which provides a ground for the analysis of a document or a narrative by using content analysis. Öner Yağcı?s six novels are used as the main documents which are analyzed by means of the document review technique in this study, one of the qualitative research techniques.The study is composed of three sections. Furthermore, the transcription of the interview with Öner Yağcı is attached in the appendix.In the first section, information about the political events which shape the novelistic account of Öner Yağcı, his novelistic account on 12th March and 12th September Military coup, Öner Yağcı?s life, literary personality and his works are presented.In the second section, the six novels of Öner Yağcı are analyzed regarding their plot, perspectives, narrator, narration techniques, space and time, and characters by making deductions about his novelistic account and his works.In the third section, the novels are assessed in terms of their thematic structures, language and style, narration techniques, perspectives, narrator, time, space, characters and common structures and designs that are used in forming a novel and results are presented in the final section.The results of the study reveal that Öner Yağcı is a social and realistic author who shows the necessary sensitivity to Turkish language and reflects his ideological views to his works and he is an increasingly popular author in the recent literature world.
