Abstract (EN)
In this study, optimum design of I-shaped cross-section prestressed concrete beams was made using a computer program previously developed by Çağatay (1996). Minimum weight, minimum cost, and minimum prestressing force were calculated in the design. Then, 18 I-shaped cross-section prestressed concrete beams with optimum design were produced. 6 of the prestressed beams were produced with steel fiber additives, 6 with stirrups, and 6 without fiber additives and without stirrups. The behavior of the produced prestressed concrete beams under bending was investigated. Experimentally, the stress distribution, load-displacement, and load-strain values of the beams in transfer and service conditions were investigated, and the results were found to be in good with the theoretical results.
