Traces of pre-Turks in the rock inscriptions of Ordu-Mesudiye

The rock inscriptions found in the fields of our ancestral geography of Turkistan to our homeland Anatolia are invaluable historical documents of proto- Turkish history. The identification of known rock inscriptions as located in the rural area of Ordu-Mesudiye, which is on the Turkish migration roads of its tribes. The determination of this rock inscriptions and the reading suggestions of the articles are the main purpose of our study. For this purpose, a field study was conducted by first visiting Ordu-Mesudiye-Esatlı Village. On sunny summer days we traveled to the region, obtained permissions from Mesudiye District Governor and Mesudiye Gendarmerie Command, and acquired preliminary by meeting with amateur researchers who had previously explored the area and were familiar with the locations of the rock inscriptions. After consulting with the headman of Esatlı Village, a camp was established in the area and the entire region was visited multiple times to photograph all of rock inscriptions and rock paintings, create sketches, and measure the dimensions of the rock inscriptions, which constituted the first step of our study. In the second step of our study, reading practices were conducted based on the alphabets established by the Early Turks, such as Scythians, Huns and Göktürks, over the millennia. Especially, the Orhun Inscriptions, which are masterpieces of early Turkish History, were examined to initiate the basic learning and decipherment of the alphabet for the reading recommendations. The ultimate goal of our study will be to date Ordu-Mesudiye rock inscriptions, identify which Turkish Tribes carved them, and understand the messages they aimed to convey across the ages. For this purpose, archaeological studies and their contributions to this field will also be addressed.
