Mineralogic and origin investigation of Pb- Zn-Cu epitermal mineralizations in the north of Örencik village (Çanakkale/Yenice)

Özet (EN)

The study area covers Örencik Village and the northern part of Yenice District, south of Çanakkale Province. Within the study scope, the area's lithological units were differentiated and interpretations about hydrothermal Cu-Pb-Zn containing quartz veins in the area and magnetite fragments observed as debris along the Sayanınbendi stream were performed. The Karakaya Complex of Lower Triassic age forms the study area's base and is cut by the Oligo-Miocene aged Eybek Granitoid. The granitoid is unconformably overlained by Pliocene sediments. Quaternary-aged alluvium is the area's youngest unit. Rose diagrams created from crack measurements taken from various locations in the study area shows vertical, transverse, longitudinal and diagonal crack systems developed as a result of NE-SW trending faults. Hydrothermal mineralizations have developed around Sayanibendi Stream connected to the crack systems developing vertically under the effect of the NE-SW directional forces. There is mineralization in areas close to the contact of the metamorphic units of the Eybek Granitoid and Karakaya complex. Mineralizations within Eybek Granitoid are epithermal vein-type. Galenite, chalcopyrite, argantite, sphalerite ore minerals are present. According to petrographic analysis, the rocks are granite and hornblende granite and also subalkaline in terms of origin evaluation. Hematitization and limonitization alterations are observed in the Eybek Granitoid outcroping in the study area. Silicification and clayification are present in areas where mineralizations and fractures are present. Alterations are observed in Sayanibendi stream and Ilica locality. Alteration density increases in fractured-deformed areas. Magnetite, chalcopyrite, galenite, sphalerite ore minerals were detected in the ore microscopy studies carried out.
