Özet (EN)
The aim of this study was to determine the pharmacokinetic properties and tissue levels of the antibacterial agent Oxytetracycline which is belong to the group known as Tetracyclines were studied after the solutions containing a quantity of oxytetracycline corresponding 75 mg/kg body weight were placed in the stomach of the cultured Tilapia {Oreochromis niloticus) using a syring. The average body weight was 150.66±0.82 g and average body length was 20.59±0.83 cm.The examined tissues were plasma, muscle, liver and gonads. Oxytetracycline levels were determined by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Two compartmental method were used to determine the oxytetracycline levels. Biological half life (tm) for serum was 21.1 h, muscle 72.8 h, liver 80.5 h and for gonads 73.5 hours. Key words : Oxytetracycline, pharmacokinetic, tilapia ( Oreochromis niloticus ), HPLC.
