Semiotic analysis of posters on organ donation and design of a poster campaign

Posters, which are graphic design products that serve people by conveying a certain event, situation, news, advertisement, information to their target audience, have many features to benefit people. One of these features is that it quickly transfers information from the right source to the target audience in an appropriate language. If the information to be transmitted has the potential to affect people's lives, there must be important criteria to consider in the design of the posters to be made. In the thesis study titled "Semiotic Analysis of Posters on Organ Donation and Design of a Poster Campaign", among the first 100 poster designs of the 2nd posterland.org 'International Organ Donation' Poster Design competition that were deemed worthy of an award and were worth exhibiting.5 of the poster designs were suitable for semiotic analysis and 5 posters were designed by Akdeniz University Prof. Dr. Tuncer Karpuzoglu Organ Transplantation Center were selected. A semiotic analysis of these posters was made and a poster campaign was designed by synthesizing the results. The posters with semiotic analysis were analyzed by the Greimas method. In this way, messages that are intended to be transmitted rather than seen are explained in terms of colors, texts, and visuals that they use. The posters presented in the framework of the thesis are; It was designed taking advantage of the positive, understandable and positive aspects of the posters of both categories, which were analyzed, and considering the results obtained from research on organ donation. By using the communication power of the poster, it is aimed to contribute to the raising of a conscious generation about organ donation and to raise a conscious generation for them, and to help many people who are waiting for an organ by encouraging the increase pressure in organ donation.
