Abstract (EN)

With the increasing need for energy, the decrease in fossil fuel reserves and environmental problems have necessitated the development and dissemination of alternative energy sources. Biomass is a remarkable member of alternative energy sources due to the fact that it is a renewable energy source and does not cause environmental problems in energy conversion. Few of the biomass to energy conversion technologies can be actively and profitably utilized. Improved selective conversion processes of biomass to selected high-value fuels and chemicals are necessary to make biomass conversion processes viable. e. In this context, the aim of this study was to obtain hydrogen-rich gaseous products by gasifying solid sorghum with water and various solvents under subcritical water conditions (250 ºC–300 ºC). The highest hydrogen yield conditions (temperature, solvent type, water/solvent ratio) for gasification will be determined and it is aimed at increasing the hydrogen yield with various catalysts under optimum conditions.
