Abstract (EN)

Pesticide, hormon and chemical use for nutrition of the increasig world population, started to menace the human health and environment. As a result of this situation, a market orientation to organic products which do not set any health risk and do not exploit natural resources came into being.In this study by analyzing the knowledge and sensibility of consumers in Çanakkale together with their purchasing behaviors, whether there is demand for organic agricultural products or not is researched. According to the findings, consumers are aware of organic agricultural products and the concept is known correctly. As fresh fruits and vegetables ranking first, consumers are holding a view that almost all the food groups includes residue. As a result of the research it is determined that consumers having high income, well educated and under 40 years are potential consumers for organic agricultural products.
