Abstract (EN)
With the advancement of technology, the likelihood of secondary disasters occurring as a result of primary disasters has been steadily increasing. Organized industrial zones hold significant potential in this context. The aim of this study is to develop a scale to evaluate disaster preparedness in industrial zones to minimize potential damage caused by disasters. The scale development process was carried out in two stages: a pilot study and a main application. A total of 330 and 779 participants were reached in these respective stages. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 and AMOS 24.0 software packages. The final version of the scale consists of four dimensions and 52 items. The overall Cronbach's alpha value was determined to be 0.957, with values exceeding 0.9 for each dimension. Significant differences were observed in participants' scores for Institutional Awareness, Environmental and Individual Awareness, Institutional Preparedness, Environmental and Individual Preparedness, and overall scale scores based on demographic variables such as gender, marital status, age, length of service, educational background, and professional title. The analyses conducted confirmed the validity and reliability of the developed scale. As a result, a model proposal has been presented alongside the developed scale for disaster-based research planned in Organized Industrial Zones. It is anticipated that this study will contribute to the literature for future research.
