Özet (EN)

Clays have very good adsorbent properties due to their high surface areas. However, their sorption capacity for organic molecules is very low, because of their hydrophylic character, except for those which are highly water ?soluble, polar or cationic. Recently, in order to increase the sorption capacity of clays for organic polluants, organo-clays are very useful as adsorbent for the adsorption of enviromental polluants such as pesticides. In this study, organo-bentonite complexes were prepared by treatment of Elazıg- Yalavuz Bentonite at %40, %80 and %100 of cation exchange capacity (CEC) using N?-didodecyl-N,N?-tetrametylethanediamoniumdiiodide (DEDMAI). After preparation, these samples were also characterised by TGA, DTG and FTIR. Cation exchange capacities of untreated clays were measured by ammonium acetate method in order to determine the amount of the salts which would be used in the preparation of organo-clay complexes. Adsortion properties of the samples were investigated in the adsorption of p-chlorophenol from aqueous solution at different temperature ( at 25 and 40 oC ). It has been seen that p-chlorophenol was adsorbed more at 40 oC than 25 oC. It has been also found that the sorption of p-chlorophenol on DEDMAB increased in order of DEDMAB-40Keyword: Adsorpsiyon = Adsorption ; Organobentonit = Organobentonite
