Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT ACUTE PANCREATITIS INDUCED BY ORGANOPHOSPHATE (METHYLPARATfflON) INTOXICATION Multiple systems organ failure is commonly seen in anticholinesterase organophosphate intoxication. One of these complications is acute pancreatitis. The aim of this experimental study is to evaluate the effects of methylparathion on pancreas. We studied five groups with total 75 rats. In first group of rats (15 rats) there were no pathological change in pancreas. In second group (15 rats that administered only as therapeutics atropin and 2-PAM without methylparathion) inflammatory cell infiltration in 5, interstitial hemorrhagy in 1, interstitial edema in 3 rats were evaluated. In third group (15 rats toxicated with methylparathion) pancreatic secretion increases in 6 rats, inflammatory cell infiltration in 2 rats, interstitial hemorrhagy in 3 rats, interstitial edema in 4 rats were found. In fourth group(15 rats, toxicated and treated with atropin and 2-PAM for 24 hours) pancreatic secretion increases in 1 rat, inflammatory cell infiltration in 2 rats, interstitiel hemorrhagy in 5 rats, interstitiel edema in 3 rats were seen. In fifth group (15 rats, toxicated and treated with atropin and 2-PAM for 96 hours)methylparathion caused inflammatory cell infiltration in 10 rats. These results suggest that organophosphate insecticides cause pancreatic secretion increases, inflammatory cell infiltration, interstitial hemorrhage, interstitial edema on pancreas. Not only organophosphate, but also atropin and/or 2-PAM may cause some effects such as inflammatory cell infiltration and intertitial hemorrhage and interstitial edema on pancreas. Key Words: Inflammatory cell infiltration, interstitial edema, organophosphate, pancreas, secretion increases.
