Empirical study conducted in Istanbul on effect of organization culture and transformational leadership characteristics on performance of teachers.

This master thesis is related to identify the effect of the organization culture and transformational leadership characteristics on performance of teachers. With this study conducted by using the opinions of the teachers and students, it is attempted to find out whether a significant relationship exists between the organization culture and transformational leadership characteristics in the schools and performance of teachers. The data required for the research was collected by using face-to-face questionnaire method. The required questionnaries of the study were completed by the incumbent teachers and students in a secondary school in Beyoğlu District, Istanbul, during the education year 2013-2014. It was revealed that organization culture and transformational leadership as the independent variables of the research have direct and positive effect on the performance of teachers as the dependent variable of the study. Application of transformational leadership technique in education field increases the satisfaction of the student and performance of the teacher directly. The other factor organization culture also has positive effect on the performance of teachers. The teachers are able to perform better in the structures having a strong organizational culture with the predefined rules encompassing common goal unity of all employees.
