Abstract (EN)

In order to find out whether organizational culture has an effect on the process of personnel selection, this study first explains the concept of organizational culture, its characteristics, levels, classification, and types as well as its importance in the administration of business enterprises and the role of the cultural structure of society in its formation. It then proceeds to explain in detail the importance of the personnel selection process from the initial stage of determining personnel needs to the final stage of assessing candidates. The study then discusses the relations between organizational culture and personnel and managers in order to expound the relationship between organizational culture and the personnel selection process. The last chapter of the study, which provides the results of field research, details the findings of the surveys carried out in Ankara's First Organized Industrial Zone, the hypotheses formed, and the results of the analyses carried out. The study establishes that while organizational cultures and personnel selection do exist, there is no meaningful relationship between them. This might lead us to the conclusion that a consciousness of the existing culture is lacking, that actually organizational cultures are formed spontaneously, that no efforts are made to protect and maintain them, or that as Goffee and Jones1 point out, most personnel from senior managers to newly recruited employers tend to describe culture in terms of experience.
