Abstract (EN)

Definition of morale and motivation, its importance in the organization,motivation theories, motivation tools and the quality of work life is explainedcomprehensively in this thesis. After explaining the importance of motivation in thehuman resources theoretically, the result of an empiric research in a state ownedorganization at the same subject is analyzed and interpreted and some solutionproposals are developed and suggested to increase moral and motivation and thus toincrease efficiency and productivity in the above mentioned organization.At the beginning of the questionnaire there are questions concerning thepersonal information of the personnel. It is followed by the questions about theirmorale and motivation levels, whose answers are related to the thesis topic. Whenthe questions were prepared, great attention was paid so as to make the questionsclear, to assure that the participants answer them easily. 730 out of 750 enquiryforms returned, with a rate of return of 97 percent.As results of the questionnaire indicates clearly, the directors have to makedecisions and precautions concerning the use of authority and initiative, participationin the decisions as well as job satisfaction according to the answers of the enquiry incoordination with the employees. Such practice would make the necessary drasticchange feasible and thus, the success and efficiency of the organization would beaccelerated.Keywords: Morale and Motivation, Job Satisfaction, The Quality of Work Life,Communication, Leader and Manager.
