Mediating role of the organizational silence in the relationship between organizational justice and organizational creativity: A research in the automotive sector in Bursa

Abstract (EN)

It has become a necessity for organizations to use their resources effectively and efficiently, with the continuously increasing severity of competition and the irresistible increase in the demands and expectations of consumers. Human resources, with their unique features, have critical importance among the resources of the enterprise. Human resources are the most valuable asset of the business as well as being the source of many problems that are difficult to deal with. Correctly evaluation of the causes and consequences of employees' behaviors by managers play a crucial role in the management of human resources. At this point, scientific studies in the field of organizational behavior shed light on managers to interpret the behavior of employees. Examining the relationships between organizational behavior issues such as organizational justice, organizational silence, and organizational creativity might help the successful management of businesses. In this regard, in this thesis, it was aimed to determine the relationships among organizational justice, organizational silence, and organizational creativity and to examine the mediating role of organizational silence in the relationship between organizational justice and organizational creativity. In addition to this purpose, it is also aimed to determine whether perceptions of employees about organizational justice, organizational silence, and organizational creativity differ depending on the demographic characteristics. In this study, a theoretical infrastructure was created, and a research model and hypotheses were developed. In order to test the research model and hypotheses, the data of the study were collected by using the individual interview method from 300 employees who work in a manufacturing company in the car industry in Bursa. The research model and hypotheses were tested with the Structural Equation Model using SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 23.0 software programs. The research results show that organizational justice has a significant and positive effect on organizational silence and organizational creativity. Another result of the research demonstrates that organizational silence positively and significantly affects organizational creativity. The results of the analysis on the mediating role of organizational silence show that organizational silence has a partial mediating role in the effect of organizational justice on organizational creativity.
