Abstract (EN)
With the development of technology, internet access is widely used not only in the home environment, but also in the workplace. In addition to the advantages of using technology in the workplaces, abuse of technology is also encountered. Various factors play a role in the background of these behaviors, which are termed "cyberloafing" in the literature. Some of these factors are addressed as workload, burnout, organizational policies, personality traits and organizational commitment. In this context, the aim of the study is to examine the effects of the organizational commitment of teachers operating in the public and private sectors on cyberloafing behaviors. For this purpose, the sample of the research consists of 270 teachers working in Aydın. The research in which corelational survey model was adopted was carried out using the survey method and survey technique. The scale consisting of 3 dimensions and 18 items developed by Allen and Meyer (1990) was used to measure organizational commitment, and the scale consisting of 2 dimensions and 20 items developed by Blanchard and Henle (2008) was used to measure cyberloafing behaviors. When the results of the research were evaluated statistically, a significant and high negative relationship was found between organizational commitment and cyberloafing. Again, according to the findings, it has been determined that organizational commitment has an effect on employees' cyberloafing behavior. In the study, it was also examined whether organizational commitment and cyberloafing behavior differ according to demographic variables. Demographic variables covered in the research; It includes gender, age, marital status, sector worked, education level, monthly income level, weekly lesson hours, time worked in the institution and total work life. As a result of analysis, significant differences were found between demographic changes and organizational commitment and cyberloafing. When the literature review is made, the existence of a limited number of studies that draw attention to the relationship between organizational commitment and cyberloafing is remarkable. Therefore, it is thought that the results obtained with this research will make important contributions both to the field of management and organization and to the education sector.
