Abstract (EN)
In recent years, as in many areas of business, the business structure and management approach is also observed to be changing. Being able to adapt these changes continuously and rapidly occurring is quite important in order to sustain the success and seize the competitive advantage. For this reason, the definition of the duties as well as its form they, in the capacity of a leadership, are obliged to perform in order to carry the business forward in ever-changing conditions, have also been changed. Thus, leaders who are able to display a proactive attitude and become a multi-perspective person, far from classic management approach, thereby creating a difference in the sector, are needed. In this regard, having an emotional intelligence that will contribute to their objectives will enable leaders to take one step ahead. The purpose of this study is the determine how much the emotional intelligence and dimensions affect leadership styles and to examine at what rate the relationship they have is. For this purpose, the leadership and emotional intelligence as outlined above definitions, historical development, and styles were examined by literature. Vice Manager involved in the banking sector, working in the branch manager position and over 392 people were surveyed, answering a total of 111 questions. The distribution of the participants and descriptive statistical tables according to socio-demographic variables in conducted analyses as well as item and reliability analyzes of the scales, including factor analysis, regression and correlation analysis were examined through t-test and ANOVA analysis methods were applied in IBM SPSS 20. As a result, it was found that there is a significant relationship of EQ on leadership styles. The results obtained on each of the two leadership styles in line with self-consciousness factor has been shown to have the greatest impact. They are the leaders who participated in the survey with self-consciousness (self-consciousness), the emergence of leadership was found to have a decisive effect.
