The role of organizational transparency and organizational inconvenience on organizational stress

Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted to examine the role of organizational transparency and organizational incivility on organizational stress according to the perceptions of school administrators and teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools. In this context, scales were included in the study. "Organizational Transparency Scale", which has 18 items developed by Rawlins (2006) and adapted to Turkish by Üçler and Taştan (2017), and one-dimensional "Organizational Transparency Scale", which has 12 items and was developed by Cortina et al. (2013) to evaluate workplace incivility and adapted to Turkish by Gültaç (2019). Workplace Incivility Scale", Theorell et al. (21) and adapted into Turkish by Yıldırım, Taşktepligil and Üzüm (2011) and the "Personal Information Form" to be distributed to the participants were used in this study. 67 school administrators and 264 teachers working in primary, secondary and high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in Rize province constitute the sample of the research. According to the results of the research conducted using the relational screening model; It was observed that school administrators and teachers' perception of organizational transparency was high, their perception of organizational incivility was low, and their perception of organizational stress was medium level. Perception of organizational transparency by school administrators and teachers; While there is no significant difference according to gender, age, education level, school type, service period and branch variables; It varies significantly according to task type variables. On the other hand, school administrators' and teachers' perceptions of incivility do not differ significantly according to gender, age, education level, school type, duty type, length of service and branch variables. There was no significant difference in the organizational stress perceptions of school administrators and teachers among the variables of gender, age, education level, school type, duty type, length of service and branch. The research result shows that there is a moderate negative relationship between organizational transparency and organizational incivility and organizational stress. However, there is a significant relationship between organizational transparency and organizational incivility. Similarly, there is a significant relationship between organizational transparency and organizational stress. On the other hand, a low-level positive relationship was found between organizational incivility and organizational stress. Accordingly, as perceptions of organizational transparency increase, perceptions of organizational incivility and stress decrease, and there is also a positive relationship between perceptions of organizational incivility and stress.
