Relationship between organizational silence and level of institutionalization: Sample of Kastamonu University

Our research has been conducted in order to determine whether there is a meaningful relationship between instititionanalization in newly established üniversities and organizational silence Kastamonu University wass elected as the sample. The questionnaire consist of three part. In the first part questions were asked to determine the personality characteristics of administrative and academic staff working at Kastamonu University. In the second part, The "institutianalization scale" developed by Bozbayındır in 2014 was used. In the third part, developed by Van, Ang and Botero in 2003 and translate into Turkish by Şehitoğlu and Zehir, it was used in Çalık's work and graded as 5 likert type in the third section. Factor analysis was conducted to determine there liability of thescalesand it was counted α=0,958 for institutionalization scale and α=0,805 for organizational silence. Questionnaries 1083 administrative and academic staff working at Kastamonu University were sent in July, August and September in 2016. 332 were found to be appropriate for the evaluation of the questionnaire and were evaluated in the SPSS statistical program. T-test was conducted to determine whether there was a meaningful relationship between the subjects. One way Anova test was performed to determine the significance difference between two or morevariables. The tukey test was used to find out from which variables the variance originated from the variance analysis. A pearson correlation an analysis was conducted to inverstigate relationship between participants's university institutionalization and organizational silence. According to the research an inverserelation and a high level of relationship were found between them. It was perceived that the variables such as age yender, marital status service type of staffdid not affect the employees.
