Abstract (EN)

The subject of organizational fit is highly related to research areas like organizational behavior and human resource management, specifically job satisfaction, stress, vocational choice, recruitment and selection. For this reason, organizational fit has the utmost importance as for organizations and businesses in parallel with the said research areas. There is a huge amount of research about organizational fit which contributes to the understanding of significance of the subject in relation with the businesses. In this thesis study, fit is conceptualized on an individual based focus that uncovers the importance of the subject for employees. The perceived control mechanisms are analyzed for those circumstances that appear when employees encounter misfit. This study widens the research on misfit and thereof questions the assumptions on the subject. This study brings together an important topic of management namely organizational fit with perceived control mechanisms which is one of the popular research areas in psychology. The contribution of this study can be summarized as follows; question the general assumption that organizational misfit will always result in turnover, clarify perceived control mechanisms as a strategy of coping with organizational misfit and construct practical propositions that are fundamental for understanding how control mechanisms are utilized. In this way, a new approach to the literature of fit is declared as well as a new model for the utilization of perceived control mechanisms is proposed.
