Abstract (EN)
In this study, the reduplications in the novels Cevdet Bey ve Oğulları, Sessiz Ev, Beyaz Kale, Kara Kitap, Yeni Hayat, Benim Adım Kırmızı, Kar, Masumiyet Müzesi, Kafamda Bir Tuhaflık and Kırmızı Saçlı Kadın by Orhan Pamuk have beeen discussed. The aim of the study is to classify reduplications in terms of stucture, semantics and barrowed words. The study consists of introduction, analysis and conclusion sections. In the introduction section, information about the biography and authoring of Orhan Pamuk has been given. Thereafter, the studies which have been done by analysts have been referred. Reduplications have been studied in terms of structure, semantics and borrowed word in the analysis section. Firstly, the affixes in words which form the reduplications in the process of structure study have been designated. Then, Semantic relations between the words which form reduplications have been identified. In the next section, reduplications which have been formed by the words from Arabic, Persian, English, French, Greek, German and Italian languages have been discussed. Conclusion section includes comments on the acquired data about the reduplications. Key Words: Reduplication, Orhan Pamuk, structure, semantics, borrowed words.
