Abstract (EN)
Form his first novel Cevdet Bey and His Sons to his last Nights of Plague, many of Orhan Pamuk's novels vary in terms of experimental attempts and narrative techniques. This diversity makes it possible to look at his novels from different perspectives. In this study, Pamuk's novels are examined through these perspectives based on his autobiography. The first of these studies is on the function of the elements seen in the author's work in the fictional world, suggesting that he has benefited from his own memories. The points evaluated here are assessed in the context of concrete realism. In the second section, based on the "Triangular Desire" model mentioned in the French literary theorist René Girard's book Deceit, Desire, and the Novel: Self and Other in Literary Structure, possible similarities between Pamuk and his characters are mentioned. In third section, a connection has been established between Pamuk's novels with postmodern elements and Pamuk and his autobiography. It has been determined that the connection between the author's autobiography and his works in the postmodern line has been established through elements such as pluralism, playfulness, metafiction seen in postmodern works, and it has been seen that this connection may have aimed to refer to the fictional aspect of the novel. In the same section, the study was concluded by establishing a relationship between Pamuk's works and "self-reflexivity", which happens in two ways: overt and covert, mentioned in Linda Hutcheon's Narcissistic Narrative: The Metafictional Paradox. Thus, the relationship between autobiography and fiction is examined three different ways, which ensures to look at the work from a different perspective through the functionality and importance of the author's autobiography in fiction.
