The suggestions of reading and meaning on orhon inscriptions (1893 - 2018)

In this study, the differences in reading and interpretation of the Kultėgin, Tunyukuk and Bilge Kagan inscriptions, which we describe as the three major inscriptions of the Orkhon Inscriptions that constitute the first written texts of the Turkish language, have been tried to be examined together. The research includes the publication studies of the inscriptions from the discovery in 1893 until 2018, and the comments of Turcologists who have research in this field on words and phrases. The aim of the study is to determine the differences in text reading and interpretation and to show the searches of the researchers who have worked in this field as a whole and to enable the reading and interpretation studies to be made truer on the inscriptions from now on. The study consists of five parts. In the entry part of the study, the problem, purpose, importance, assumptions and limitations of the research have been explained. In the second part, general information about the Orkhon inscriptions and theoretical explanations about the alphabet used in the inscriptions have been given. The method of the research has been given in the third chapter. The fourth part constitutes the main part of the thesis. The transliterated texts how having been read and have been interpreted by the researchers have been shown chronologically. In the conclusion part, which is the fifth part of the study, differences in reading and interpretation in inscriptions and the reasons for these differences have been determined.
