Abstract (EN)
Sustainable pest management is crucial for meeting the increasing global demand for food and conserving biodiversity. The intensive use of chemical control leads to pesticide resistance and a decline in beneficial organisms, posing risks to the environment and human health. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) offers a more sustainable alternative by limiting pesticide use to necessary situations. Within the framework of IPM, biological control stands out as a method that protects ecosystem balance and minimizes environmental impacts. Biological control relies on the use of natural enemies against pests. Orius laevigatus (Fieber), a species belonging to the Anthocorıdae family of the Hemıptera order, is widely used commercially as an effective predator of Frankliniella occidentalis (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), a significant pest in greenhouse production. In this study, the lethal concentration (LC) values of abamectin, acrinatrin, Flupiradifuron, and Spinosad were determined in O. laevigatus populations collected from natural environments and the surroundings of greenhouse production areas in different districts of Antalya, using the leaf dipping method under laboratory conditions. Significant differences were found between populations regarding insecticides. The LC50 values determined for O. laevigatus populations against , acrinatrin, flupiradifuron, and spinosad were 0.05-0.35 mg e.m./L-1, 0.37-2.72 mg e.m./L-1, 0.07-0.72 mg e.m./L-1, and 0.65-7.03 mg e.m./L-1, respectively. Abamectin, acrinatrin, flupiradifuron, and spinosad were found to exhibit low levels of resistance against O. laevigatus. These findings demonstrate that insecticide selection is critical for the conservation of natural enemies used in biological control and that regional population characteristics should be considered. Furthermore, it is believed that the data obtained from this study will contribute to the literature.
