Investigation of quality improvement techniques in forest products industry; example of Duzce province

The objective of this study is to assess the feasibility of applying quality improvement techniques for enterprises operating in the forest products sector. Additionally, the study aims to gather the opinions of these enterprises on the subject matter. To achieve these objectives, the study included 42 enterprises operating in the forest products sector in Düzce. A survey was then conducted through face-to-face interviews with representatives from each of these enterprises. The data obtained from the surveys was converted into numbers in the SPSS environment and analyzed using statistical methods. The study found that 50% of companies were in the furniture industry, 35,7% of them used quality improvement techniques while 42,9% of them used quality improvement techniques only partially. The findings indicated that the most frequently employed quality improvement technique among the enterprises was the brainstorming technique. Furthermore, the study revealed that enterprises utilized quality improvement techniques to "enhance product quality levels" and "improve customer satisfaction".
