Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, content analysis of national articles and bibliometric analysis of international articles published in the field of forestry were conducted. The material of the study consisted of abstracts of articles published in 6 forestry journals selected according to various criteria in the TR Index Journal List within the scope of national articles, and abstracts of articles in the field of forestry with Turkish address in journals indexed in the Science Citation Index, Extended Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index and Arts and Humanities Index within the scope of international articles. The content of these article abstracts, focusing on subject, department, forestry issues and policies, was coded. MAXQDA 2022 software was used for content analysis and VOSviewer software was used for bibliometric analysis. With the help of content analysis, it was tried to determine the temporal change in the focus of forestry research, especially in the field of forest economics. In addition, the links between forestry issues included in top policy documents and published articles were analyzed. With bibliometric analysis, various data such as co-authorship status, citation status, the most used keywords in the articles and the most used words in the abstracts were analyzed according to various factors such as author, institution, country of the studies published in international journals. A statistical relationship was found between articles and policy documents, departments and periods, departments and journals, journals and periods, being national or international and periods. It has been determined that the distinction between departments and divisions cannot be made in a healthy way by only looking at abstracts, titles and keywords. The publications of the Department of Forest Economics are divided into 3 different disciplines: Forestry Policy, Forest Economics and Forest Law. Among these disciplines, the most studies were conducted in the field of Forestry Policy. According to the results, it has been revealed that the social and political parts of forestry are becoming more important as well as the economic side of forestry in the Department of Forest Economics. When international studies are examined, it is concluded that there is an increase in the number of studies in the field of forestry, after various analyzes such as co-authorship and citation analysis, the most productive institutions in Türkiye are Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa and Karadeniz Technical University, the forest industrial engineering department is more prominent in international articles, and the term mechanical properties is used the most. Finally, some recommendations were made to policy makers and researchers.
