Abstract (EN)

Suspension systems utilized on road vehicles, even though they are on the similar system base in general, are improved day by day. In order to preserve vehicle height and increase vehicle comfort properties, air suspension system has been used as independent from load for years, in particular at commercial vehicles and buses.Air spring model was formed mainly in two topics such as thermal change and geometric change unlike conventional springs, regarding thermal change of air, existing in bellow and geometric change because of its flexible material structure during working. In this study, vehicle performance at various conditions was analysed by adapting a developed air spring model using on a passenger car handling dynamics model. In this thesis, rather than examining the effects of air suspension on vehicle ride comfort, in detail, the developed air spring model was analysed at different design heights to observe the effects on handling dynamics and differences between the vehicle models with air spring and conventional spring.
