Abstract (EN)

After America has taken over the role of hegemonic power from the United Kingdom, today, it is spending an effort to preserve this power by strengthening it. World system has become an order which is dominated by free market economy pioneered by the USA. This order is gaining strength as its coverage area expands. At this point, Central Asia is in an especially important position in terms of US interests. It is necessary for Central Asia to be articulated in the political and economic sense with regard to US interests. With the disintegration of Soviet Union in 1991, it was considered that the power vacuum occurred in Central Asia must be filled by the United States. Especially America's interest in Central Asia which started in the mid-1990s has been increased after the September 11 attacks. The experience of September 11 was a turning point in Central Asia policies of the US. The USA has emphasized its safety and terrorism based priority in the implementation of the hegemonic policies in Central Asia. Rich energy resources of Central Asia was seen as the greatest means for the articulation of Central Asia in the American hegemony. In this context, this thesis has examined the components of the American hegemony and dealt with four hegemonic visions (Hegemonic Stability Theory, Liberal Institutionalist Approach, Neo-Gramsci Approach and World Systems Approach) as a conceptual framework. With this foundation, the articulation process of Central Asia with the American hegemony has been examined in detail. It was defended that, in this process, the US used the energy resources of Central Asia as a means for their policy.
