Abstract (EN)

Purpose: The aim of the study; The aim of this study is to examine the moral decision making attitudes of the students studying in secondary education. Materials and Methods: The exploratory model has been adopted as an exploratory pattern from mixed methods. In this method, the research was started with quantitative data analysis and ended with qualitative data analysis. In the quantitative research, the sample of the study consisted of 592 students in the secondary school in Malatya. In a quantitative study, Lee et al. olarak Moral Decision Making Attitudes in Infrastructure Sports Scale kullanılmış which was developed by Gürpınar, was used as a data collection tool. In the qualitative research, a total of 30 students whose moral decision making attitudes of the licensed students in secondary education institutions were evaluated were evaluated. In the qualitative research, semi-structured interview form was used as data collection tool. Findings: In the quantitative part of the study, it was found that the students had a moderate level of moral decision making status. The gender of the students, the characteristics of their branches, their age, school types were also found to be significantly different between male athletes and girls in terms of moral decision making. In the qualitative part of the study, moral decision making has emerged as two themes as positive and negative decision making. The theme of positive moral decision making is composed of three categories: sports ethics, external factors and athlete character. The negative moral decision-making theme is composed of four categories: the impact of the environment, prioritizing winning, response to match and personality. Conclusion: Sports ethics in the decision-making behaviors of athletes students, external factors, priorities to win, reactions in the moment of respect, such as respect, empathy, patience, fear of violence, cold-bloodedness, lying to lose control, regret, such as being focused on the short cut and result concepts have been observed to be effective.
