The effects of Middle East developments on Arab nationalism

The Middle East is in a very strategic position due to its feature of being the midpoint of Asia, Africa and Europe continents. The region, which also includes the Arabian Peninsula, includes many states that are particularly rich in energy resources. With the invasion of Egypt by Napoleon, commercial activities in the region accelerated, and Western states started to penetrate these lands, which they see as a market. Later, they tried to ignite the idea of Arab nationalism through literary and cultural activities and mostly missionary activities, and they were successful. Policies implemented by the Ottoman Empire in order to suppress the increasing independence in the region did not yield successful results and the Arab nationalism movement, which gained a political identity, caused the Arabs to revolt against the Ottoman Empire and the formation of a new Middle East-Arab order. The next path of Arab nationalism was influenced by almost all developments in the Middle East Region.
