The main goal of this study is to get the views of students about web-based portfolio preparation and web-based portfolio assessment and also is to determine students? attitudes directed towards e-portfolio instruction process and status of their success in consequence of using web based portfolio method in Information and Communication Technologies course of 10th grade of secondary education. From four different classes, a total of 77 students who attend information and communication technologies course in the second term of 2007?2008 education and instruction period in Şehit Zafer Sabancı High School from Pozantı in Adana constitutes the research area of this study. As for the research group of this study, 12 students of the same class that are selected from research area by using the two-stage convenience sampling (Frankel and Wallen, 1993).In this study a combination of qualitative and quantitative research models are used. Descriptive analysis is applied by using qualitative research model to determine students? opinions. Quantitative research model is used to determine the attitudes of students? and status of their success. To determine students? opinions within the purpose of study, semi-structured interview form was prepared. E-portfolio attitude scale for instruction process which has been prepared by Demirli (2007) is used to determine students? attitude for e-portfolio insctruction process. Data obtained with scale was analysed by means of the SPSS?11 statistical package program, the percentage, frequency and arithmetic average value of data were set as table. Web-based portfolios has been prepared to determine the status of students? success. E-portfolio rubric prepared by Vandervelde (2007) is used to assess students? web-based portfolios.At the end of this study, the web-based portfolio studies have been assessed as positive by all of the students. They said that the study was entertaining and they got a big pleasure. It is also realized that they have learned new concepts, they need the help of their friend?s and making research. Most of the students would like to apply web-based portfolio in verbal courses instead of mathematical courses. All of the students want to be a part of this study again. Generally, attitudes of the students for the e-portfolio instruction process are detected as positive. Statistically, it is found that there is not any significant difference between attitudes of students for e-portfolio instruction process according to sex. Generally, students got enough marks from their web-based portfolios.
