Evaluation of women's image in secondary education Turkish language and literature course books-in the scope of -100 basic works series- from the points of Turkish romans

Literature, which has been interbedded with history from past to present, has tried to clearly convey the social traces of the period in which written with the works penned. Turkish novel has also been shaped in the light of changing, developing and transforming social and political events in Turkish history. This situation showed itself in literary periods associated with historical periods. In the research that deals with the Tanzimat, Servet-i Fünun, Republic Periods;In the Turkish Language and Literature course book of the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Grades of the 2019-2020 academic year; With female characters featured in the novels of Yaprak Dökümü, Küçük Ağa, Felatun Bey ile Rakım Efendi, Mai ve Siyah, Ateşten Gömlek, Yaban, Huzur, Murtaza, Tutunamayanlar, Üç İstanbul, Bereketli Topraklar Üzerinde, Aylak Adam, Sevgili Arsız Ölüm ve Selvi Boylum Al YazmalımThe roles and duties of women in society were investigated. In the research, the method of analyzing written documents in document analysis was used. This model was used because of the depth of the research and the most suitable method for determining the current situation. The obtained data were evaluated with the method of analysis and interpretation. The image of women in these fourteen Turkish novels examined within the scope of Secondary Education Turkish Language and Literature textbook and 100 Basic Works series; It has been transferred to secondary school students through many images such as education, spouse selection, independent and free decision-making. In order to create the desired behavior in students with existing female characters, the authors while describing the image of women they want to be in society in novels such as Murtaza, Üç İstanbul, Yaprak Dökümü with their images of women they want to disappear through negative characters; They also wrote the ideal type of woman with the novel of Ateşten Gömlek. The importance of women's education was highlighted with the images of used women.
