Comparison of visual presentation materials of high scool class: 9 coursebooks and primary school social studies coursebook within historical units

In the recent years there have been important changes in educational approaches. In 2005 the Social Studies program of 6 th classes was changed. In 2007 the history lesson program was changed.This research is made to find answer to the following questions by finding the similar topics from 6 th class Social Studies Program and 9 th class History program. Which visual materials are used? Are the visual materials efficient? Are the visual materials appropriate to the topics in the book? The visual materials in these two books are examined and the similarities and differences are brought to light.While collecting reguiered datums, document analysis method is used. During the research excisting resources are found, every source is examined carefully, necessary informations are noted. Evaluation is made inthe late of these notes.Primary School 4-5, Secondary School 6-7 Social Studies lesson coursebooks and High School 9 th class history lesson coursebooks and their programs are the centre of our research.As a result the visual materials in new boks which are written with the now approaches have been writen with more care. In both boks representative pictures and photographs are used. Secondary 6 th class Social Studies coursebook has become more charming by using the representative pictures.
