Examination of teachers' views on the secondary education physical education and sports curriculum

In this study, it is aimed to examine the views of physical education and sports teachers about the secondary school physical education and sports curriculum, which started to be implemented in 2018. The research was conducted with 20 physical education and sports teachers working in secondary education institutions in the province of Erzincan in the 2021-2022 academic year and the data obtained were carried out with qualitative data analysis methods and methods. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the data. When the findings of the study were examined as a result of the opinions of the participants, it was understood that they took into account the interests and wishes of the students in the implementation of the physical education and sports course, partially used the values and competencies in the perspective of the curriculum in the course and provided them with the opportunity to transfer them to life.In addition, it has been determined that physical education and sports lesson teachers do not act in accordance with the purpose of the curriculum, and they are limited in conveying the special objectives of physical education and sports lesson to students.In addition, it was observed that the occupational health and safety committees and the school family physician did not carry out any work for students to undergo health checks. In the light of the findings obtained in the study, it is clearly seen that it is necessary to carry out studies that will increase the knowledge of teachers about the program.
