The contribution of the drama method to the success of secondary education nineth class turkish literary course students (City of Ankara ? an example of Akyurt county)

In this research, besides the methods and the techniques applied in secondary school Turkish Literary ? 9 course, the improving effects of drama in the success of students and the opinion of their teachers for the method of drama are studied.The research space is composed of secondary school Turkish Literary ? 9 course students and their teachers. The research sample is composed of Akyurt Çok Programlı Lisesi 9 ? F and 9 ? G classes and 100 Turkish Language and Literary teachers obtained randomly among Ankara counties. 11 themes obeying the drama method have been determined in this concept and for 10 themes, temporaly in conjuction with the annual plan, have been applied to the experiment group students with drama actions. The same themes have been applied to the control group students without drama actions. Success criterion is used to measure the success among the two groups. Besides, an ?Inquiry of Teachers? Interview? has been prepared to get the opinion of the teachers about drama. Student success criterion and teachers? interview answer sheets have been depicted with MS Excel charts and the comments for the results have been given in the end.At the end of this research study,1) It is concluded that the application of drama method besides the other method is contributory to the success of Secondary school Turkish Literary ? 9 course students.2) It is observed from the interview sheets that the secondary school Turkish Literary ? 9 course teachers seldom apply the method of drama.3) It is concluded that the method of drama is seldom applied in the course book of Turkish Literary - 9 prepared according to the new education programme and it is observed that some other drama actions might be gathered from the drama actions which are already applied in the book.4) It is observed that there is not a reference guide to the utilization of drama method for Turkish Language and Literary teachers.At the end of the research, suggestions of the researcher according to the results are presented.
