From the beginning of the republic there has been great studies to improve quality in education and training in our city and there are edicational institutions from every field and at all levels in Diyarbakır. Teaching programs have been changed several times over the years and since 2005 'in our schools constructivist teaching curriculm which is student-centered program has been applied. Due to teaching characteristics of their program, computer and computer technologies have gained importance. Geography lesson is one of the courses in which using of visual and audio tecnology is required. This study was carried to determine contribution of using technology in geography lesson especially in Diyarbakır. 35 schools were participated in this study conducted in secondary schools in central districts of Diyarbakir. 50 teachers and 674 students from these schools took part in this study. Data colleting technique is survey. Different questionnaries were prepared for teachers and students. The data obtained were evaluated with descriptive analysis method. According to the data there are computer and computer technologies in the huge amount of these teachers' schools. There is a lack of using computer and computer technologies in teachers working in these schools. It has been noticed that students used technology both in their schoos and daily routines. It is necessary for both teachers and students using technology in geography lessons and current conditions should be improved.
