The discipiline applications in high school institutions: The comparison between a state school and a private school

This study aims to analyze the recorded disicplinary applications of a state high school and a private high school according to the collected data. A state school and a private school in Muratpaşa, Antalya have been chosen for this study as samples. In this study, the applications of disciplinary councils and the students' demographical features, who were dispatched to the disciplinary council during 2014- 2019 education period in a state and a private school has been compared, then it has been determined whether there is any difference or any similarity between these two different type of schools according to their properties. The disciplinary punishments that the students received accoding to the disciplinary regulations of the Ministry of National Education and the relevancy of these punishments to the regulations has also been analysed in this study. The data of this study has been collected by analysing the documents of the schools' counseling service and the record books of the disciplinary committee and honorary board. This study's model is a qualitative study with the qualitative research method and its document analysis. Fifteen different sub-problems' solutions have been searched for by collecting data from charts that were sperately formed for schools. The demographic characteristics, family status, negative behaviors, punishments they received and disciplinary processes applied in schools were interpreted in line with the findings obtained and some suggestions were presented in this context.
