Abstract (EN)

Introduction and Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the subjective well-being of high school students who participate or do not participate in school sports and to examine whether participating in school sports has an impact on subjective well-being Materials and Methods: The research place is in high schools of Erzincan Downtown City, the sample consists of 1004 people including 479 girls and 525 boys randomly selected in the center of Erzincan considering the school types. '' Subjective Well-Being Scale '' (High School Form) and '' Personal Information Form '' were collected in the study. Research data were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 statistical program. Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis H test were used for the analysis of the data. Findings: It has been observed that attending to school sports activities are increasing subjective well-being level of students. The subjective of well-being level on girls who are attending to school sports activities was higher. Type of school is effecting the subjective of well-being levels. The subjective of well-being level status were lower who are not attending school sports activities at high class and students who have lowest income. Conclusion: According to the data obtained from the research, it is seen that participation in school sports increases the subjective well-being level of the students and affects positive psychology of individuals in the positive way. As a result, it is important that leading youth to make sports causes them to look future positively. Key words: Positive Psychology, school sports, sports, subjective well-Being
