Determination the views of head-teacher, physical education teachers and students towards the physical education in the secondary education schools

In this study, it has been aimed to determine the views of head-teachers, physical education teachers and students towards the physical education, and to find out their level of interests that they demonstrate to the physical education lesson, and thus to determine the problems that they are faced while running the lesson in the secondary education schools. The study has been carried out on 21 participants, who are 7 head-teachers, 7 physical education teachers and 7 students in 2011-2012 Academic Year in different secondary schools in the city of Trabzon. In the study, a case study method from qualitative approach was preferred for aiming to get the views of the participants in a deep manner about the aim of the study. It has been used three semi-structured interview forms to collect the data. The data have been transcribed, and thus processed by means of content analysis. Similarities among data, collected from three groups, according to certain concepts and themes have been determined by means of constant comparative method, and thus these have been interpreted accordingly.According to the results, in general, there are contradictions between the supposed values and real values that are given to the physical education lesson. It has been seen that while the lesson is applied according to its rules, it affects the students? developments as a whole positively. It has been realized that it is not as important as the other lessons in the education. It is realized the problems that cause this, and so it is important in the point of taking precautions. The results in mind, it can be recommended that it is necessary to take the societies? point of views in to account about physical education lesson while benefiting the causes that decrease the importance of physical education lesson.Key Words: Physical Education Lesson, Head-teacher, Physical Education Teacher, Student, Qualitative Study
